About Me

I’m a wildlife camera operator passionate about telling visual stories that motivate viewers to preserve our natural world, and by extension, ourselves.

I bring a hard work ethic and a sense of humor to production. I have experience assisting with camera equipment, lighting setups, and grip needs. I am fast on my feet and when I don’t know something, I only need to be taught once.

My camera operating experience is primarily long lens work that showcases the intimate details that grace the world around us. I love the challenge of birds in flight, and quite a few shots are showcased in my reel.

Growing up, I was always outside, always exploring the backyard and the beach. I was captivated (as many are) by the photographs in the National Geographic magazines I received every month as a gift from my grandpa. I hope to inspire others in a similar way with my work.

I’m based in San Luis Obispo, California and willing to travel to wherever the wolves are howling.

Read a brief synopsis of my journey below, or see my full resume.

2021

I joined a FarmLore Films production of The Biggest Little Farm: The Series at Apricot Lane Farms in Moorpark, CA. It will be released on National Geographic/Disney+ in 2024.

I started as a Production Intern, was quickly promoted to Production Assistant, and finally landed as Assistant Camera. In that 6 months, I acquired the skills and confidence needed to effectively assist on a wildlife or documentary production.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARRI Amira, Canon CN20, RED V-Raptor, and Canon C500 II. I also gained experience with Camtraptions (Sony A7S IIIs) camera traps and the Phantom VEO both standalone and tethered.

I can’t share many BTS photos here yet, but here I am at a remote PTZ control board in a hide at night waiting for a critter :)

2019

I saw my student film Backyard Wildlife from idea to completion, and it won best youth wildlife film at a local film festival. I brainstormed the rough idea, filmed, edited, wrote the voiceover, did color correction, edited some more, and then sent in into the San Luis Obispo Film Festival at the last possible second! It was an 8 week project with a final cost of $300 (for professional voiceover recording), and an amazing learning experience.

2017

I took a photography and Lightroom workshop in Yellowstone with Cindy Goeddel which blossomed into a 6 year mentor-mentee relationship.

I had the opportunity to learn, edit, and then teach her Lightroom class to her clients. This is where I honed my digital workflow and organization skills.

I assisted Cindy on two of her wildlife photography workshops in Yellowstone: first in the summer at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch and second in the harsh winter on snowcats in the interior.
